71-76 Dana 44 or a 77-91 GM 10 bolt...

Re: 70 K-5 Blazer front axle swap, what bolts in

I put a Dana 44 from a 1978 3/4 ton into my 70 K5. The only problem I had was with the brake lines. At the same time I added the 78's power brake master cylinder and porportioning valve. The K5 originally had manual brakes and the drums all around. I ended up making all new front brake hard lines rather than cobble the system together with multiple adapters.

Don't forget you could also put in a Dana 60 but they are of course not usually a cheap purchase. I haven't done that swap yet but there are some people who have that can give you the details of what mods were necessary.
