Truck got JELOUS

So i daily drive my 69 lwb with my wife and kid. We have a second one on the way so lately we've been looking at cars while were waiting to hear back from the bank. Well i dont think my truck liked thatcause on the way home from work yesterday all of the sudden i lost my power steering i didn't think much of it my belt was loose and the p/o solid mounted the pump, but i look down and no charging and the engine is getting hot. So pull it over pop the hood and the harmonic balancer bolt sheered at the end of the crank and the key sheered so i had a balancer and crank pulley set lying on my crossmember. Luckily we just re-decked the flat deck trailer we have at work and my boss was nice enough to come and get it to save me the big bux tow.

Sorry to go on so long I just needed to vent and get some ideas why it would sheer like that
Thanks for listening Josh

Re: Truck got JELOUS

I had one get ticked at me for lookin at newer cars... I was in my old 69 GMC short/fleet, rumbling around the back part of a used car lot, decided to leave and turned around. Had to cut the wheel real tight to get off there lot, and then it decided to snap a lug nut and throw it about 5 or 6 cars down.
I think it cracked a windshield.

I don't think it was mad at you just wanted to point out which one it wanted you to bring home

Re: Truck got JELOUS

thats interesting. maybe that explains the issues with my truck. I have been holding out for a good deal on a '07-'08 chevy for a while now and reading this thread has made me put two and two together.

Longhorn man, can you point me to the original thread that you got the quote from in your sig.
