i gotta put my truck back together real fast and real cheap....

ok yall are really gonna think im crazy but its gotta happen.i have a used running 305 with everything but a carb and intake on it. i have a intake and old two barrel that needs rebuilding. i have a used but working th350. i need to change my tranny member for the th350, i need to cut the drive shaft because it had a 4spd in it before. i need a starter ring and starter. and i need a shifter. and it has to be done for $250 give or take. now i have a buddy that might have a old starter and starter ring. i have a 84 chevy truckthat was given to me that had a th350 in it, but can somebody tell me if the tranny crossmember from the 84 will fit in my 66? if i dont get this done im gonna have to sell my truck, and i really dont want to.
thanks,
John

It should. The frame is similar, I know all the front stuff works, so I'd think that would be same diameter since the front crossmembers are the same.

http://www.persh.org/pickup/IdeaPage.htm You should be able to make it work. You will have to drill some holes. Just remember to turn the speed down on the drill so you don't burn up the bits..
