Attention Factory Tach Owners...

i have a '75 stepside that i'm restoring and i decided that it would be kewl to get a factory tach guage cluster and put in... well, after purchasing three of these things on eBay, i finally got a perfect cluster for my truck. to test the tach, i hooked it up to my engine and to my dissappointment the tach is "delayed" so to speak. it works, its just if you rev the engine quickly, then let off, the tach is delayed by about a 1/2 second. like the needle is in fluid motion, but it is delayed. this is the second factory tach that i've had like this: is this the norm?
