Cargo Light Question

Can someone post a picture of the cargo light switch inside your cab. I've never been close enough to a truck with a cargo light so I could see where the switch is. I am hoping it is attached to the interior light and you attach the wires to the interior light wires. I want to put a cargo light on my truck now that I learned to cut metal with my Dremel Tool the other day.

I'm not positive, but isn't it connected to the the light switch? It's supposed to come on with the inside lights.

Re: Cargo Light Question

Greg: if by chance you need a nap when you get the cargo/Bed light installed you will have to order the ultra rare option remote chain (on-off pull chain) and a pillow. thinking the RPO code is ZZZ-ZZZ good luck

Re: Cargo Light Question

I think the 67-72 Assembly Manual has a few pages with measurements for cutting the holes and how the wiring harness connects. IIRC the wiring harness connects in place of the domelight harness on the fuse box and then the dome light harness connects into the cargo light harness? Sorry, it's been a few years since I put one in.

Re: Cargo Light Question

for the dome light
orange and white wire
they are on the drivers side floor under kick plate/carpet,
then they run up the pillar to the dome light.

Are you using 1 from parts truck or are you going aftermarket?

heres factory wiring
