Pictures of Smooth Firewalls
Let's see some pictures of smoothed and filled firewalls. Did you guys just fill the holes or did you do a major make over?

Re: Pictures of Smooth Firewalls
I believe the expression is.... Shaved? It'll be totally smooth when complete, no remains of any heater, engine cutout, etc.

Re: Pictures of Smooth Firewalls
Muddpile- what is your master cylinder and booster off of? Did you get the levers and bellcranks from another vehicle or did you buy the kit? Just thought that was very weird and I am working on one for under my dash but it looks like you have gotten it off of another vehicle of some type. Thanks in advance

There used to be some on eBay for 67-72. Not sure if there still is.

Re: Pictures of Smooth Firewalls
The 90 degree master is off a full size 80's Dodge van. The bracket, master, booster, bell crank, etc. Is all stock I believe. Rod length may have been modified, it's been so long since I've had it all apart I can't remember. It's not a bolt in, but it's pretty close.

Re: Pictures of Smooth Firewalls
Thanks a lot mudpile I will be heading to the junkyard probably tomorrow. Is the setup under the dash in the van or on the firewall?

Re: Pictures of Smooth Firewalls
That part I'm not sure about. This was in the truck when I got it, but to look at it, it sure looks like it would be on the firewall, not under the dash.

Re: Pictures of Smooth Firewalls
I'm filling in as many holes as I can on my firewall. Those three holes do I need them? or can I cover them?
Thanks |

Re: Pictures of Smooth Firewalls
They are for the speedometer cable, e-brake cable and clutch push rod. If you don't need any of those, you don't need the holes.

Re: Pictures of Smooth Firewalls
Thank you Tony. This is the last part to the firewall that I have welded up. I left the speedometer, E-brake, gas pedal and column hole. Oh and the electrical harness hole also. It sure is a slow process and now on my fourth or fifths cold one to celebrate a little closer to getting done. Well at least one more year.
