63-66 Grill hood bumper differences
Is there really any differences from 63-66 on the grill, hood and bumper.
I'm trying to find a few parts to improve and make my job a little easier. I've found a few parts that I might be able to wheel and deal with, but I'd hate to make the 60minute drive down to look at them and pick them up and find out they are not going to fit anyways. I have a 1965 C10 and since these appear to be of the same C10 family I'm really interested. |

62-6 hoods are the same.
63 has a different grille than the 456. the bumper should be the same, measure your vertical bolt centers just incase. I think it was 60-62 that had the different bolt pattern. |

Re: 63-66 Grill hood bumper differences
Thanks again. I was thinking the hood was pretty universal and possibly the grill was a little different.
Is the openings the same size for the different years meaning you could swap one year for another just the grill its self is differenet? If so I'm guessing that black one is a 62 and man I really like that grill. I think it looks really hot. Head lights and all are talking to me. |

the black one is the 63, and the grille support is the same 60-66, chev and gmc.
you might have to drill new grille mounting holes, if you swap -say a 66 grille onto a gmc support, or put a 60 grille on a 66 support. |

Re: 63-66 Grill hood bumper differences
I thought it was that simple. Im just a Jeep guy trying to learn Chevy. It did take me 8years to get my Jeep just the way I like it so I'm sure with patience I'll learn this as well.
Thanks for all the info. I did order the Factory Service Manual and the Supplement manual for the 65 so I can learn these little tid bits because it makes it way easier looking in junkyards and Craigslisting things. In the Jeep world its easy. If its before the Square head light models nearly everything is swapable. If its after the square headlight models everything is swapable up to the 4door looking things. Square head light models are well square, but we wont get into that here. |

I think GMC hoods are a little different. At least the turn signals are.
