Radio question
My question is does anyone know of a IPOD player that could be installed in the truck or car? I do not want a radio what I want is a player that I can connect my ipod to and be able to play in the vehicle. I am not sure if I am making sense.
I do not want to cut my dash, I have my factory two knob radio that I am glad I did not sell. I am going to put my stock radio in the hole just for looks. I am not interested in putting a radio in the glove box or under the dash, all I really would like is something to connect my ipod to since I dont listen to regular radio it is usually my ipod in my other vehicles. thanks for any suggestions!!!!!

You didn't say if your stock radio is AM or AM/FM.
I bought an FM transmitter off of Ebay for my iPod. It broadcasts my iPod music over an FM channel not in use. It can be adjusted for many different channels. It works good in some areas and not so good in others. Cheap solution!

I like the AM refurb. Thats too cool.
I am actually tring to figure the same thing out. Maybe tie an aux plug into the exsisting radio and still keep all the AM funtion. There has to be a way to T the antenna and send it that way. I've had a couple CD changers that just went inline with the antenna, but that was for FM. Watching this one while looking around.

Sounds to me like you just need an amplifier connected to some speakers that aren't connected to the stock radio. You may need to fiddle with the input levels of the amplifier, but you should be able to set it so that you control the overall volume of the system with the volume of the ipod. This way you don't need to worry about your stock radio at all.
I setup something similar in my shop using an old 40 watt amp and some bookshelf speakers to connect my old ipod to.

I just had this done for a 1971 Blazer. I sent the factory AM radio to this company, and they gutted it. What I got back was a factory radio, that now has AM/FM. and 2 RCA input jacks to connect an IPOD. I have installed two kick panel speakers, and am a bit undecided on the sound quality. I think once I get the rest of the interior back in it should sound good, and the Blazer still looks like it has AM only. the new radio has balance,tone,and fader control, and I think plenty of power to drive 4 speakers if you wanted. $400

A guy in Milwaukee, invented the ready rad, it works with any am or fm radio plug and play, I heard an ad for it last sat, sounds like it might be your ticket, it is made ideally so concourse restorations can listen to ipods, etc, and take it out when show time comes around, it connects inline ,
