Ok, for some history this is a 69. My dad drove a 77 Ford for many years and one morning came out to find it gone. He needed something pretty fast and found this truck with a straight six for 1500 which considering this is a rust free Arizona truck was a great deal. After driving it a couple years he ran into a 1971 Cheyenne Super right in his neighborhood and had one of those buying impulses take over so I asked him what he was going to do with the 69 and he said sell it and I said 'I don't think so"....I'm bigger than he is So I started tinkerin around with it, cleaning and straightening till I am where it is today. Let me know what you think.

The rear brakes are from Baer, I'm lucky enough to live about 20 miles from their place. Simple bolt on but I did have to turn the hub down to get the rotor to set the way it needs to.

2005 silverado....i wanted them cause they are pretty comfortable and have the integrated seat belt. Had to make small brackets to mount them and in hindsight I wished maybe I would have gone with a teas design but these I did get cheaper.

definitely a nice build your putting together...and if you just consider that "cleaning" up the intake then your truck will come out very nice!

I usually only work on the truck on sundays, dad comes over and helps out. He's soon to be 76 and can still work pretty hard...just a tough old dude. We started to run new brake lines this weekend. When i put on the brake line Baer gave me it was pretty long so I just welded a bracket more inward on both sides, won't be any problems with the tires turned fully in either direction.

I'm probably going to cut this line back and turn it thru an existing frame hole so then I know it won't have any interference problem with a header.

I thought i'd share something my dad made for this truck. The tailgate was not in real great shape so he made a skin for it. I'm not thru smoothing it all out yet but I think it will look pretty good. For the opener he got a dampner from an old house AC unit and made a slick little opener for the gate. There's an actual t-handle that we use to open it but i couldn't find it to show you guys so instead i just used a ratchet, just a little pressure downward and it pops right open. I think it's pretty slick and pretty sure it's one off.

finished the brake lines today, nothing fancy but they turned out pretty good. I'm running the 71-72 grill on my 69 so I started working on putting the turn signals in. I'll mount them off the core support. I'm getting dad to fab up a bracket for each. The picture is a before and after. I didn't need all that extra metal around the housing so I just trimmed it off. It's going to look good.

been a little slow lately, my son in law totalled my 01 silverado and I'm now without a truck and feel naked and scared Therefore I started to bring back after a near 5 yr weed sit my 93 ext cab 2wd. Anyways, I did manage to get the turn signal brackets made for the front. Heres a couple pics

Good progress.

I can't tell by the picture but the one of the rear brake, if that picture is right side up, then you have the caliper mounted upside down. The bleeder valve must be at the highest point on the caliper or you will never get it to blead all the air out.

I also know that the e-brake cable should be on the bottom, since I had these on my '92 Camaro and my '68 truck currently. Figured I'll let you know before you get everything done and try to blead them.
