Would anyone know of a place that could reproduce a set of period license plates?
State, year, number and weight.

Re: plates ?

You may want to buy vintage plates for your truck. These in most states can be registered for your truck. That's what I did. Hemmings, ebay, a Google search, etc would be a good place to start. Price will range $10 and up depending on condition. I hope this helps.

Re: plates ?

I`m guessing you have a number/letters you want?I know I`ve seen pretty darn authentic looking custom plates made somewhere, but can`t think where.

Re: plates ?

Thanks guys. That is exactly what I am looking for.
I have lots of vintage plates for many years and many sets for the 72.
Deal is the wife went to a sale a few days ago and a lady was selling an old key case. The case was not too interesting but inside were some keys and original lisence tags. Some may remember these as I do. I remember my Grandparents had a set of keys to the Cadillac in the cookie jar and on the keyring was a miniture set of plates with the exact number.
I would like to go to the DMV and see if these numbers are still available and if so, get matching plates.
An original (restored) truck, an original set of keys (mine), original style plates and the original minitures in an old key case. I like the idea of period items and correctness.
Randy, since we opened the new business I have hardly had time to do anything. This is the first time back on the board in months. We are swamped and working long days. Business is good. We are on track to be completely debt free by Jan. 1. I have been to Penn. to quote jobs and looks like we will get the work.
Did not know if you knew. We opened a Machine and Weld shop in May. A friend, my son and myself. MetalWorks Unlimited Inc. at our temp. site, 802 Sth 9th. We are building a new building and buying more machines weekly. We have completely outgrown the current space in 4 months.
I will look at the Burb but right now I am cleaning out the barn of lots of truck stuff and more. I have got to get back on my truck and I have way more parts than I will ever use. Some new stuff from the 85 that we never used and lots of 72 stuff.
I will be putting lots of stuff on Craigslist to build some cash. Anyone need a boom bucket? Lots of crap that I have collected over the years and must go.

Re: plates ?

I don't remember where I got the bucket (white lie)
I found that after I got the shoulder straps on it, I couldn't carry it to the woods.
Must be getting old. I tried to drag it to the woods and ended up taking a nap instead.
Oh, the old days.
I may still mount it to the loader bucket to clean out the gutters and trim trees.

Re: plates ?

I really would have no use for Montana plates unless they were perfect and then I would make wall hangers out of them. If they are cheap enough.
I am working on a Missouri truck and would like to keep as much to the period as possible.
What does the Montana plate look like? Lots of wall space in a 40 X 70.
Thanks.
