To sell now or finish?
That's the question. I told a guy at work a few days after I was asked if I would sell my truck that I would for $3000. I didn't want to, and still don't want to. Anybody think that I should? Including body work that has been paid for and not finished, I have just about $5000 invested including the overpayment when I bought it. Bodywork that needs to be done is both rockers, floor pans, patch panel for side opposite the fuel filler neck, and re-prime the body to replace the primer that is flaking off due to cold weather when "finished" last time.

Re: To sell now or finish?
If you're tired of it, maybe it is time to sell.
If you're not ready to part with it and do, I believe you will regret it.

Re: To sell now or finish?
I'm not tired of it. I don't have much time for it. I have done what I wanted to do to it, besides finish it. I like turcks, but kind of want a car. If I get a car I am selective. I want an old car. Maybe an old BIG Caddilac!

It's all a matter of personel choice. If you want a lead sled more that a truck go for it.

Make your decision with your head and not your heart. Your head will guide you logically and your heart will change like the wind (at times like a fad-what is hot today--may be cold tomorrow). Good luck with your decision.
Also read this about our trucks. This might help you with your decision. http://www.sporttruck.com/techarticl...cks/index.html

Re: To sell now or finish?
The thing I found out about these old trucks is that you rarely get what you put into them. Time and effort in locating parts and doing all the work is never compensated properly.
Look at it like a pyramid shaped "buyer" scale with the people with the most money being at the top. As your price goes up, the buyers that can afford it are fewer. One other thing to consider, a lot of the younger buyers want to do their own work and mods and don't necessarily want a truck that has been done for them. If you don't have a place to store it and/or the time to invest in it, I'd say sell now. You can always look for another one at some later day when you have more time or space to store one. |

Re: To sell now or finish?
THANKS. What I have left is one patch panel, door swapped out, rockers both side, inner and outter, floor pans, then reprimer. I have materials and I've already paid my body guy for it.
After that would be do the interior, clean up the engine compartment, and put in the Vintage air kit. Of this paragraph I still have to buy those items. |

Re: To sell now or finish?
Yep... lots and lots of these trucks out there that are still cheap. Some cats think of these trucks as "musclecars" and jack the price up accordingly. That always makes me LOL. They are still trucks... you can find them cheap. You won't get out of it what you put into it. Not even a show truck.

Re: To sell now or finish?
What is it about us Arkies that we have problems with people doing the work we pay them to do? Then, it seems that we just want to give up and throw it away. I say, "Bull Butter!" My truck has cost me thousands of dollars and tons of sweat. But, since my son and I picked up the pieces and started doing the work ourselves, it's better.
Don't give in and don't give up!

Re: To sell now or finish?
Keep it, you'll regret selling it when someone brings up a conversation about these trucks and you say "I had one of those once..."

Re: To sell now or finish?
If you want to sell it,sell it as is. It makes no sense to put money into it just to get that much more...and don't forget your time. If you want something else, you want to start putting your time into "that" sooner.
