Sender unit for chevy 350

Hi folks,

Iv'e got a very nice 1957 stepside. It has the original dash cluster, however a 1975 chevy 350 enginge. Sadly it doesnīt have a temp Sender. I have trouble locating a corresponding hole in the manifold for that.

Q: does anyone know where the temp sender should be located?
Q: does anyone know what sender (range) will work with my heat gauge?

It is a spreadbore 4/bbl cast iron manifold, truck engine, 1975. The only in/outs I see is, water heat for the fan, oil and vacuum.

Take care

a pic would help, but there is often a port next to the thermostat housing on the intake

You should have a plug on the heads, use that hole.

Re: Sender unit for chevy 350

Hi

looking a little bit closer I did find just under the thermostat housing (on the block)a plug.

Hard to see, but maybe a 1/4 or 5/8 hole. I will try to use that one.

I didnīt see any other holes on the heads, or anywere else.

Does anyone know if the standard 75 chevy sender works with the original gauge?

Look between the spark plugs on the pass. side between # 6 and #8 plug for a pipe plug, remove and replace with sending unit of choice.

Re: Sender unit for chevy 350

Yep, I found the plug!

Bought me a sender , TS-6 made by standard. I tested it and it seems to be working just fine with my old gauge. Now I have all my guages and the speedo working too.

Thanks a bunch.
