Trouble sourcing PCV Grommets
I have a set of Micky Thomson valve covers to go on my 350 but I'm having real trouble over here in the UK sourcing the right size PCV grommet. The hole (already knocked out) in the cover measures at a diameter of 1 3/8" and I'm struggling to find one that size. Can anyone suggest a mail order source.
Thanks

Re: Trouble sourcing PCV Grommets
That seems like a pretty big hole for the PCV, are you sure it's not for the breather cap instead?

Re: Trouble sourcing PCV Grommets
It has a push and twist hole at one end and this 1 3/8 hole at the other. One cover has the 1 3/8" hole opened up and the other the push and twist so I was going to put the breather/oil filler in the push and twist hole and the PCV in the other. I'll take some pics if that would help.

Re: Trouble sourcing PCV Grommets
Yep, good old England where it never stops raining.........hence the request for mail order. Suppliers over here only seem to keep 1 1/4 ones in stock.

Re: Trouble sourcing PCV Grommets
I would try the 1 1/4" grommet.I think the hole in my Clifford valve cover was 1 3/8" and 1 1/4" worked fine. Chris

Re: Trouble sourcing PCV Grommets
I've just looked at the other cover that has the opposite holes knocked out and it looks like the PCV hole is stepped so you can just knock out the middle or the whole, well, hole and the previous owner knocked the large hole out. A 1 1/4" grommet does stay in but it is a little loose, I was thinking maybe a small bead of black TRV sealant around it might be the only way forward to avoid any oil leaks.

Re: Trouble sourcing PCV Grommets
I found these:
https://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/...T66803&Style=4 But if you want some advice 'sell them' and get something else. Or at the very least put some baffles inside to stop oil from slinging out the holes. I had some and could never keep them from leaking, finally sold them.

Re: Trouble sourcing PCV Grommets
Lippy it looks like Year One has you covered with either size grommets for steel or aluminum valve covers.
A bead of silicone to try what you have or have someone do a little bit of welding on your cover to tighten up the hole maybe?
