Anti-AxleWrap Bar>>>

Hey FirstGen OffRoaders ~
Anyone put an Anti-Wrap bar in the rear?
I know my rear end wraps up fairly easy, I have been lucky so far with no breakage but I need to secure my rear before I tear something.
I don't have much room as my mufflers are in the way

I hate to mess with my exahust as it is very solid install..but I may not have a choice....

Looking for Ideas?

I am thinking something simple like this:

This one is WAY stout!

I was over at Pirate4x and saw the pics.
Looking for pics under a FirstGen K5/Jimmy.
Anyone?
Preferably with a 14FF rear?
Any pics will do....
Thanks
Burt

Re: Anti-AxleWrap Bar>>>

Ya the Backbone/Wrapter
It would prolly work as it is on top of the 14FF instead of welded to the tube next to the pumkin.
Problem = I don't have to 500 to buy that setup so first I wana see if I can make my own, slowly buying pieces...I'm really broke nowa days

Re: Anti-AxleWrap Bar>>>

I had to eliminate my dual exhaust that looked like yours and go single with a crossover right behind my 205. Once that was cleaned up here is what I have:

Re: Anti-AxleWrap Bar>>>

Thanks, ya I can't see a way around it, keeping both mufflers and a bar...just no room for both...
Winter project!

Hey MNorby,
Do you still have your factory crossmember in there? The one that is in-between the forward spring pack mounts?
What size lift are your rear springs?
Thanks
Burt

Re: Anti-AxleWrap Bar>>>

On my truck, I put two bars, one on each side of the axle that mounts to the bottom of the frame.

Re: Anti-AxleWrap Bar>>>

This is what I have on my Jeep TJ, but I'm sure some creative fab guy could be made for you guys. Its basically a skid under the rear diff and then a torque arm that connects to a skid plate.

For me it removes the upper control arms, creates a skid plate for the rear diff and drive shaft and acts as a torque arm/anti axle rap bar.
Heres a bunch of install photos if your remotely interested in copying the idea.
