700r4 tranny

Hello all. I'm new so go easy on me. My baby has been with me since 1986. She is a 1970 GMC 3/4 t. 4x4 with some mods. Well more than a few mods. I have the stock 4 speed (muncie, saginaw or corporate .you pick.) with a NP 205 transfer case. I'm wondering if any of you gearheads have mated a 200r4 or 700r4 to a NP 205 transfer case. I'm guessing I'll have to go to a different transfer case with the overdrive automatic. But hey, it never hurts to ask. Next on the list. Has anyone seen a supplier of new metal floors for an 8' box. They're out there for shortboxes but I can't find anyone to supply new for a 8' box.

You can mate a 205 to a 700R4. I've done it a few times.

Get the adapter and 205 from behind a Th350 and shorten the output shaft on the 700R4 to match. or you can buy the 700R4 adapter shaft from Advance Adapters.

Re: 700r4 tranny

Thx Grendel. Good advice too as I just got a e-mail this morning from bow-tie overdrives about Advance Adapter. This may just be falling into place.
