Quickee floor and cage repair
The long term plan is a family cage mounted to the frame but right now Im trying to make due with what I have and get ready for the season. Over the last couple years my 6 point cage, bolted and welded to the floor has pretty much tore the floor apart. Wheeling and just driving with the top off has taken its toll on the floor. My short term solution is a brace across the legs of the cage, a 1" square steel tube between the side rockers and the floor, a couple gussets, some 1/4" thick steel plate under the front feet of the cage and some very "backyard" sheet metal rust repair and hopefull it will be good for a couple more seasons.

Herculiner, roll-on bed liner. Works pretty good, so far.

Good idea to catch it before it's too late.
![]() If your torsion boxes are gone, here's one way to mount up that cage when the time comes. |

Re: Quickee floor and cage repair
Thanks VT! Very cool. I will definitely save that picture for future reference.
Question, why the bushing mount rather than directly welded or bolted? Thanks again!

Re: Quickee floor and cage repair
I'd guess so the frame and body can still act as seperate pieces bolted together with bushings. Kinda like how the body sits on a rubber bushing between the frame and the body mounts.
As well makes it a bit easier to take the body off the frame in the future. |
