402 or 454?

I am going to be swapping out a blown 402 big block with a new longblock, and was thinking of going with a 454 instead...all the accessories will bolt up. I was wondering what I would need to change? Do I need to change the flexplate? The 402 is bolted up to a 700r4. I know a flywheel is balanced to each particular engine. I know I will need a different harmonic balancer. Anything else? Thanks!

Re: 402 or 454?

454s are externally balanced, therefore you will need the flexplate and the ballancer for a 454. everything else should swap over without any issues.

Perfect, I don't think I will have a problem locating either one of those!
