How do you know?
What are the symptoms for a harmonic balancer going bad? I have a vibration in my truck, that you can feel while in park and in drive.I just broke the 2nd carrier bearing in a years time. All new universal joints, drive shaft balanced both times. What do you all think?

Re: How do you know?
I think you might have a bad tranny mount.

Re: How do you know?
"broke the 2nd carrier bearing " sounds like a rearend pinion angle that out out line. this happens with a ride hight altered. vibration may be from a motor/trans mount . a clutch or torque-converter, fly wheel (ring gear) that are out of ballance. the harmonic balancer is an allmost non fail part, to check look at the front of it and the rubber looks good ( not missing peices) it is in all likely hood still good. the exhaust system touching the body can give off vibration. i like to take a good light and inspect the underside when it's on a hoist for problems.
