what is this plug in?
I was looking at pickup for sale, well an auction coming up and saw this wrapped around the back bumper and wonderd why and what it was?
any clues? didnt look like std trailer brake/light affair. It had some things in the back that had been taken off? 5th wheel maybe?

Looks like a welding type cable connector being used as some sort of quick disconnect battery/power lead, possibly to an auxiliary item running off the battery.

We called it a "Tweco" connector, originally a welding connector, and used for some portable power distribution, but illegal for that now.
No clue why it would be on there, maybe aux. power for a winch or trailer?

Yeah that's a quick connect for some large power "appliance" etc. We have one but they aren't separate. I'll get a pics of ours if I can.

I've seen them used to power jumper cables on service trucks.They use the "Tweco" on one end and a standard battery clamp on the other.It just makes a quick way to jump a vehicle.

Jumper cables for sure, you need the other end to make it work, allows quick jumps and no cables to steal since it is a dedicated set-up.
