How “Addicted” are you to the site???

Well, I am beginning to realize that I am on this site WAY too much. I usually get up in the morning and check out a few things after I look over my email and bank account etc. Then I usually check it at least 5 times during the day at work. In the evening after work I have a laptop that is usually close by and ready to make a search as questions come to mind. So I think realistically I spend 20+ hours on the forum per week! WOW I guess I am a truck nerd or something. Anyway, what about everyone else???

Re: How “Addicted” are you to the site???

Ahhh, ummm, well I check how every one is first thing in the morning, and then if I am working in the shop at home will probably check in during the day as well. Then last thing will check through the different forums. Deevorced years ago so don't have to make polite small talk to anyone!! Yup, I'm an addict!

Re: How “Addicted” are you to the site???

Well this is the best forum on the net!! I check it daily during the week, just to keep up with what is going on. I have loved these models of truck since I was a kid in the 70's. My father had a 67 long bed. bought it new in Ohio and drove it to California with my mom's dad to move the family back to Ohio in the summer of 67.

My uncle had a 69 short fleetside, that I learned to drive in. I bought my 69 in 1984 and would not part with it for anything. This forum has so much information and great looking trucks it is hard to not look around when you don't have anything else to do. Everyone on here (99.9% anyway) are great and helpful as they can be. What a great place....could it be heaven on earth??? LOL

Long live 67-72 chevytrcuks.com!!

Re: How “Addicted” are you to the site???

I went with 11-20 but it could very well be more. I check when I'm not buisy at work and when I'm sitting in my chair watching TV in the evening. If only I spent as much time working on the truck I would be done by now.

Re: How “Addicted” are you to the site???

I spend less time now that I don't have internet at home and the wife's office has moved. Now it's only a couple of hours a day through the week, not much at all on the weekends.

Re: How “Addicted” are you to the site???

I was at the Dr's the other day. He said i had "Octad"....? WTF?

O.C.T.A.D ....
"Old Chevy Truck Addiction Disorder"

Apparently it is an infectious disease that originates in the genetic makeup of certain individuals....mostly north american males. One of the things that triggers the dormant (O.C.T.)mutant gene is accidental exposure to 67-72ChevyTrucks.com. After that, the disorder runs rampant, over taking spare time & causing host withdrawals from their bank accounts at an astounding rate.

Ther is no cure......

We are screwed....

Re: How “Addicted” are you to the site???

I check for interesting topic here a few times a day, but usually don't spend THAT much time here. At the same time I also read on LS1tech.com and of course search craigslist for things I don't need (like a 69 short step for $600....must...not...buy....)

I am on here more during the cold winter monthes than the summer ones, too much stuff going on then for me to be on the computer.... which is probably a good thing.

I haven't been around for a while, but I am gonna need some advice soon, so I end up poking around for a few weeks staight catching up on stuff, joining groups, posting albums.

Like most my hobbies, this one can suck-up a lot of free time so I have to rotate them.

Re: How “Addicted” are you to the site???

Depends on work for me, when I'm working I'm only on a couple times a week, but for longer as there's more to catch up on. When I'm home, I'm in 3 or 4 times a day for shorter times. Definitely addicted. Wish I had found the site before I bought my truck, would have done some things differently. Very glad I did find it though, it's saved me a lot of additional pain!
