What rear end is in my 89 2500??

What rear end is in my 89 2500 light duty...14 bolt??? and would there be a benifit swapping it into my 96 z71... That 10bolt is a little weak for 38s.... Reason I am interested in this swap is its still a 6 lug and I dont have to get new wheels... just get gears and a locker...

It is a 9.5 inch semi-floating 14 bolt. It is still marginal for 38s, but it is a LOT stronger than a 10 bolt, and it is the strongest "bolt-in" 6 lug axle that is available for that chassis.
