quick static drop question
Hey guys, I'm new here...well, I've been lurking and reading for a few months now...but here's my 1st post and 1st question:
-How much drop would it take to be at least be tucking tire front & back on a '68 longbed coil spring truck? -Would 3" springs and 2.5" spindles be enough in the front? can't really go any lower in the front statically right? -and how about the rear? 5" coils and 2" blocks, would that work? I'm trying to be as low as possible all the time without air ride... Thanks guys, appreciate any help and insight...and I don't have a c-10 yet, but I'm looking everywhere around here for a decent one and just trying to get my plan worked out... btw, will this all still work with factory steel wheels? that's the look I'm going for... thanks again |

Re: quick static drop question
You could bag it on stock arms and spindles, it would tuck emptied, and ride stockish filled.

Re: quick static drop question
I am not sure about your drop question since I only went with a 3.5/5" drop. I converted to disc brakes in the front the factory wheels no longer work since they rub against the caliper so I found some 73+ ralley wheels.

Re: quick static drop question
you will probably want a 4/6 drop
4/5 would be ideal but 6" without a c notch is pushing it for ride some people dont reccomend it because of the travel you will have left with

Re: quick static drop question
yeah, it'll have a c-notch
just wanted to make sure a 5.5"/7" drop was enough to get the tires in the fenderwells... thanks again guys... like this pic below, that's about the ride height I want..can I do that statically?... Last edited by Mike J; 09-25-2008 at 09:30 PM. Reason: pic |

Re: quick static drop question
As long as you like going straight. That's not going to work with a static drop.
