Re: Exhaust system decision on ole' 62

In my opinion, You can't beat a flowmaster, period. They last a long time, way overbuilt. They also sound great! I would throw a pair of 40 series flowmasters back on it. If you are set on a change, look into a spintech muffler. The offroad guys love em. They are compact and small and very overbuilt as well. I am running 1 on my burban, its tucked up in the frame between the trans x member and the suspension x member, fits like a glove and sounds pretty good too.

I personally think magnaflows sound funny. I have never heard one that I liked more than a 40 series flowie.

Look into the Hooker Aerochamber. I think they sound better than the flows do. They don't get that tinny, pinging, resonance that the flowmaster does. They are a bit mellower as far as loudness goes, you can't hear 'em clear around the block, but they sound GREAT.

Thumbs up Re: Exhaust system decision on ole' 62

Yeah..................
My Dad wants to go old school, and make some mufflers out of 3" driveshafts.
Anyone done that on here???
I like Flowmasters....but there are not loud enough at idle. Anyone know how I can post a wav sound file on here?

I dont have a H or X Pipe on my 2 chamber Flows now, but I will put a X pipe on her. There are so many out there. Ex:

My motor is not built real wild, but she's pumping out 400 horses with a dual pattern cam. Wanna do more, but we will see. I'm going to add a Flame thrower kit and Exhaust electric cut outs too.
Wanna sound like this truck.......
