replacing dash pad cover
well i dont know where to start with this one i just need some tips i guess.
I already have my old dash pad off and everything and i have my new cover from lmc. Do i have to take the old cover off the foam or will it rip? or will I need to use any type of glue to put the new cover on? |

Did you buy just a cover? If you bought a new dash pad they bolt on from behind the dash and with 4 screws in front of the dash.The bolts under the dash are 5/16 ths speed nuts.They are a pain to get to.you will need to pull the glove box and the dash cluster to access the bolts.You may get most if your are very flexible but it's a long reach.I find a 1/4 in drive socket set with lots of extensions and swivels to be very helpful.

Did you buy a plastic dash CAP?. If so, they come with silicone adhesive and glue on top of the factory dash PAD. If you bought a new dash pad, then do as PanelDeland said.

if it is just the cover, you don't even need to remove the old dash pad.
If the old one has cracks that are buldging, then file them down, clean it up with windex, then put clue on the pad, and pop the cover on there. |

Sadly, I wish they would have left my dash pad on, cracks and all when they "restored" my truck in Texas-I have to go the whole pad replacement route (which I haven't done yet, for reasons stated previously
