got to spend some bonding time with my dad, but a new starter in my 92, pain in the ass!! but i showed the old man that i know what im doing!! but he diid teach me a thing or two. got my bed back for the 79 from the body shop, all rust fixed. so ive been bondoing and sanding like none other. but it looks good, ill have to put some pics on here soon. but all in all a very productive weekend

Saturday I had to hep a friend move.Sunday I changed the serpintine belt on my Jimmy,mowed the lawn,then watched football and drank beer for the rest of the day.I'm still working on the ast one.

Saturday my dad and I when to go visit my granda pa, and there was a carshow a couple miles from his house so I drove my truck about 130 miles round around trip to celiste Texas , the furthest its every gone since Ive started restoring it, know problems driving 65 to 90 the entire way there, except the motor was screaming between 3.5 to 5 grand, I need to invest in a overdrive and higher gear bad, the show was great there was about 40 cars and a small paride that lasted 5 minutes, its a real small town, I won a class award in a 60s to present modified trucks, one for being the youngest, and one for driving the most to get there, and today I took out my new reman worn out steering box, and tomorrow I will put a new reman box in tomorrow hope the new one will last more than a couple of months

I spent the weekend working around the house getting things done. Lots of little stuff that has needed my attention that was neglected due to Hurricane Ike.

Today I went to Old Town Spring to the Longhorn Rod Run. Lots of nice cars and trucks to look at but not as many as in the past. I think lots of people were still recovering from the storm.

I took lots of pics, but unfortunately they didn't turn out. I borrowed my daughters camera and didn't realize she had it set for special effects....

I finished up my make-shift water separator for my lil' home air compressor. It seemed to do the job.

I was able to DA the firewall w/o taking a bath from moisture spitting out the tools exhaust. I stripped all the paint w/a 3M stripping disc on a 4" angle grinder & then DA'd it to get a good/consistent texture.

Once that was done I taped some stuff off & dropped cloths or fender covers over the Dropmember & front rails & shot some DP-40 epoxy on the firewall. Now the mud slingin' can begin.

Helped unpack the latest container from the USA it had the rest of my parts in it, new front and rear sports bumpers and a full set of side trim for $135.00 new. Hopefully it will all go on my truck this week.

Ordered a u-joint removal tool to remove the clevland joints on my willys wagon i(ts a 4x4 so if this work it is worth the investment). I can will that no one has seen these before.... Also picked up a gravity feed spray gun to see if i like it better then my siphon set up.

Like rusty it rained here all weekend.

Tightened up some loose nuts and bolts and screws to stop some rattles in the Lowrider. Went out today for a while and blew a fuse for the fuel pump... didn't catch the fuse issue until after I had the truck towed home.. Oh Well, it's back up and running again tonight.

Didn't do much of anything.. mowed the lawn, did some more cleaning and painting of the frame and engine bay. Started prepping the tinwork for the engine to be blasted and powdercoated.

I finally got my truck home!!

For the last 8 months or so I have been using a boat storage stall as a workshop. I did an engine/trans swap and 3/5 drop along with a lot of smaller projects while it was there. But now it's to the point I can drive it, so I cleaned out the stall and hauled everything home.

Two things:

- First, I 'fixed' the hole in the foam in my 78 using foam sheets from a boat seat + Elmer's + duct tape. Covered up the resulting eyesore with a $25 seat cover from Auto Zone. But the springs aren't poking me in the behind anymore. Total cost: $26

- Finally, finally got the trans pan bolts snugged down. No more leaks!

Oh, and one more thing - I egnineered a trade of my excellent running 1989 F150 for a

non-running 1969 GMC C-10 shortbed stepside with the original six in it. No rust, and the body & frame are straight. Slight fuel pump problem is the only reason it's not running. So, I've got an all-winter long project.
I'm so happy...

Dragged my 2 ton out of the field using the 6.2 half ton and a tractor. The 81 will not move so that's next week's project. Ripped brick facade off house and used it to make floor where my shed will move to. Oh, and slept in there somewhere.

Finally installed some 4X10 speakers in the cab corners of my Heap.

Cleaned up all the drivers, cut the grass, the usual yard stuff.

I’m not much of a country music fan but my wife is. She picked up the “country” CD by “Hootie and the Blow Fish” front man Darius Rucker, I’m hooked. Already ripped it and put it on the Ipod.

After a few weeks of troubleshooting some gremlins on my 6.0 swap, finally went by tuner shop today and made an appt to bring it in thursday.
Need to get this thing running so I can move on to the next project.

I pulled the engine and trans from the 77 2wd Blazer I have, and began the teardown. The short block looks to be in really clean condition. It's still a standard bore and shows no ridge or wear after all these years. It is a 4 bolt 3970010 10/20 high nickel block.. Hmmm would make a good 383 candidate??

Could be it was re-built at some point. Anyway after a good cleaning and paint it will put back together as a mild build for now. Other than that, I cleaned the shop in order to make some room to pull the tub off the blazer to get the frame out so I can get it blasted and primed. Guess I should start a build thread pretty soon..
