He did good & stepped up to say he will take them...just like you are supposed to. I lost out because I was trying to negotiate...that doesn't count & I agree. Nice 292 setup, too.

PICKMUP - my comment was not meant as rub. I too am inclined to haggle on price when seller says "make offer".

Re: 292 PS gear, AC controls, Interior stuff

70inline6 - recieved parts today, Thank You.
I probably should have asked this prior to purchasing. What year truck/engine are these brackets from? I currently have PS on my truck, (listed on options sticker), this is not a conversion. PO rigged up with SB bracket and custom welded brackets (?? what happened to org brackets I dunno stolen, lost??) I have never seen OE brackets for 292 PS. What is the small pulley for that I recieved? (not pictured in org post). Initial look at engine mounting holes and brackets has me confused. Do you have any pics of this set up installed? I cannot find any useful pics in assembly manual. I have a 69 K10 4X4.

Re: 292 PS gear, AC controls, Interior stuff

That's the way I bought it off the list about six months ago. I was told it was for a 292 and with my lack of knowledge, I assumed it would fit a 250. Once I tried to line up the block bracket I saw it was too long for the 250 (to account for the tallness of the block of the 292 I assume) and then later researched and read they were not the same.

I have never seen pics of a 292 setup, only the 250 ones from some of the other trucks on here. I assumed the small pulley was for swapping onto the alternator and that it must ride further forward with this application and be a double-belt setup. I really don't know, only went with what I was told off of this list.

Re: 292 PS gear, AC controls, Interior stuff

I think I have it figured out. The main bracket fits perfect so it is for a 292. The setup came with two adjusting brackets, one which will work for the pump only and bolts to the main PS bracket. The other one bolts to the water pump and ties into the alternator and PS pump with adjusting slots for both. I am going to use the 2nd one since it lets the pump sit in a more upright position. My PS pump has slightly different mounting holes, so I am going to use the one you sent. I do not know if I will need the double groove alternator pulley yet. I have never heard of PS running on 2 belts. Anyways, thanks for a very complete set up!

Re: 292 PS gear, AC controls, Interior stuff

Glad to hear it! As I said, it was all in the box-O-stuff I got. That 2-groove pulley is exactly like the one on my Imperial's alternator... maybe a Mopar part fell in the box at the PO's garage...

BTW - you should clean that pump I sent thoroughly in my opinion before you install it. The PO was nice enough to bead-blast everything... but there's no telling if any of the media got into the fluid reservior.
