So after working on the '51 for a year and a half, I am gonna half to cut my losses and take a loss and sell Project Blackout, I know we have all been watching it come together but the truth is, we are cutting some time here at the ofice and I want to get out from under some stuff. I am asking $8000 for the truck!

It has a crate Currie rear, Fatman IFS, new Bed, SBC tubular motor mounts and trans mount, All the fab work is completed.

It really makes me sad but you have to do what you have to do to save the heard!

I've followed the build. Based on what I have seen here I don't think you couldn't buy the parts for what you are asking, let alone get the fabrication done. Good luck, unfortunately there are a lot of hot rod and muscle car projects showing up in the newpaper, Thrifty Nickel and Craigslist, sign of the economy.

I have to agree with OrrieG. This time I think the truck is well worth the asking price. It is to the point that a guy/gal could take it home and finish his or her way.

Adding up the components that are already installed totals most of the asking price plus you have to look at the labor to install said pieces.
If someone has been wanting to build an AD truck and doesn't have the skills or equipment available to get it to this point this is a great start on a nice truck. The best part is that when you roll it out of the garage as a finished truck it will be "your" truck finished the way you want it. It might be easier to get pass the significant other too as it looks like a truck now rather than stacks of parts and a hulk to go with then.
Sad to see you have to sell it but these days a guy has to do what he has to do and there is always another project waiting to be done further down the road.

AAWWW crrap!!!! this sucks the big weeenie. TRUST ME!!!! YOU CANNOT GET THIS FAR FOR THIS $$$$. As to the "stack of parts" statement this oh so true. When I met my current wife (not to say there is to be any more) she said " I don't see a truck. All I see is a bunch of junk". NOW she sees a truck (sort of it's getting closer).

We all got to do what we got to do. You know what is best for you so do it. There will be other projects.

Sorry to hear about that. My '54 is on hold for a while because we are out of funds. Good luck on your sale.

I am going to paint the chassis this next week and try and start re-insalling the suspension.

To put this into perspective, There is NO welding needed. The body can go straight to paint and the chassis is ready for a engine, trans and fuel tank!

ABSOLUTELY NO WELDING NEEDED!
