Re: How many guys go to that other little truck forum?

most of the s10 only forums have a younger crowd, so that comes with the territory. you dont see the bs on this site as it has a much older age group in general as it is mainly a classics forum. when it comes to the other forums for s10's, there usually is a bit of more/better info there on the trucks. this s10 sub forum here does not have a huge contribution/post following. there isnt the masses that are on this site are in the older truck forums, not many memebers hang out here. but the ones that do give no b.s answers and it makes for easy searching.

Your are correct! That's why I decided to just go there to look IF I need some info. Not to converse.

Re: How many guys go to that other little truck forum?

I'm a member on a few S10 forums. Most of the time you can tell they are a younger crowd.
Both, (older and younger), have their ups and downs. Usually more experienced info from the older crowds, but the younger guys at least aren't stuck on the "original" aspect....

the biggest issue's with other mini forums, is the moderaters and the way the site is run. the other sites allow personal attacks, and bashing and are not run family friendly, so they get way out of hand. as for the stuck on oriniality??? what is gained from keeping an s10 stock?? im in to what ever the owner wants for his ride, as its his money he is spending. im amazed at some of the modifications that people accomplish, is it practical for them?? must be. is it practical for me?? no, but im not 1 to bash someone for there individual tastes even when i dont like the outcome, but i am knowlegable enough to respect the time and money in there ride and will complimant there outcome. the younger guys dont know how to show respect from behind a keyboard.

Nice avatar trailwart! And well said. I don't particularly like atol of the modifications people do, but if the do quality and unique work I respect and admire that part of their ride.

Original is just a peeve of mine. I'm a hotrodder at heart I guess. Building an old truck, (car, whatever), back to what the factory built thousands of just isn't me. Besides that, all the "original freaks" drive the price of parts to completely insane levels where poor broke suckers like me couldn't afford it if we wanted it.

"younger" crowd... Bet y'all don't know this site was started by a 14 yr old huh? Not all kids are punks, however those boards are full of young punks that are allowed to run amok... It's kinda like a mixture of Jr High and and High School without any rules or regulations to keep em in check!

you just nailed me on that one --- i am so bad i am even looking for little GMC dog dish caps for my truck's 14" wheels ! I think its funny that it looks like a "Paw Paw" truck

I think a lot of the S-10 guys on this board may be like me, and have the little trucks as a second vehicle because the big one gets 10 mpg. Mine is so original it looks like a time warp back to 1990 ---- mainly because when i have money to spend on parts, it usually goes to my '69 or '75. I just concentrate on keeping the little S-15 clean and full of gas

I will be deviating from stock soon though -- the factory stereo is fried -so its off to Best Buy or wherever for the Alpine Ipod compatible thingy

I used to be on the S10 forum back when I had my S-dime but that site sucked. Wasn't run to well in my opinion. So like most others on here I just looked for answers and didn't post much.

Yeah, I've never seen so many "use the search button" posts before in a single thread...

The age difference really does show and I find it funny. I like the dirtier sense of humor, but if we had that here, we'd have all the other crap that goes along with it, which I'm not a fan of... so.... here I stay the majority of the time.

Re: How many guys go to that other little truck forum?

s10foum.com offers a lot of info, if you are willing to look for it. there is also a lot of BS ( too much IMO ) that is allowed to go on over there ( such as the " search button " comments), hence why i only have about 100 posts and have been a member for about 4 years.
