Thumbs up While I'm Waiting...

Here's the FINISHED thread now it's all done.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=1#post2963839

Here's how the truck used to look; all original (even paint) except for wheels, seats and console, and new grille:

Here's a pic of the wreck that started the whole rebuild:

Had to rebuild the front end all the way to the steering box, so everything from there is new, including a lower RH Control arm.

While rebuilding the front end I swapped in a new set of HD Front coils and raised the front at least 2 inches. Then I had to get a set of 1.5 lift blocks for the rear. Here's how the lift looks:

Here's the truck, stripped and ready for the body shop:

New Seam Sealer:

This is the ONLY Rust hole in the whole truck

Re: While I'm Waiting...

The truck is off at the bodyshop getting painted, inside and out.
Here's where it's at now:

While I'm Waiting, Here's some stuff I've gotten done for when I get it back.

Here's a before and after rebuilding the vent windows:

Finished vent windows and repainted and polished headlight buckets:

Cleaned up and polished cluster and ac controls:

Kinda out of order but here's the stripped and repainted trailer receiver:

Re: While I'm Waiting...

All the interior vinyl and plastic has been dyed SEM Firethorn Red:

This is a dyed kick panel next to a piece of the new carpet; it goes together pretty good:

I relined the inside of my console with some of the new carpet:

Re: While I'm Waiting...

Stripped and repainted bumper. Painted it a color called aluminum. Looks somewhere between silver and chrome.

I already had the new grille, but I found all 3 pieces of grille trim in the junk yard and polished them up and repainted the stripe:

Here's a couple of upgrades:

Pulse Wiper Switch:

New ACC Carpet; i also got enough to line the back wall of the cab, kick panels and inside of console:

I think I have about as much money in new parts and materials as I will have in the paint job It'll be worth it though!
I'll update when I have something to add; I don't have much to do now until I get the truck back.

The body shop will cut out a small section and weld in a new piece and put the drain hole back. I just wrote WELD by anything I didn't want filler used on; I stripped the truck before I even found a body shop, so I marked everything like that just to be sure.

Thanks for the comments guys! I'm just waiting now for the shop to get done with one car thats ahead of me for the paint booth, then it'll be my turn! They will be painting inside the cab and taking the bed off to paint back there too.

Re: While I'm Waiting...

The rims are off of a 2001 Silverado2500HD The rim size is 16x(6 or 6.5). The tires are 265/75/16 And they are 10 Ply. I'm hoping to have enough money left when I'm done to get some spacers to move the wheels outboard 1.5 inches. On the upside, with the wheels inboard that 1.5 inches I get less rock chips down the sides of the body.
