door assembly?
My doors on the 71 are in bad shape. I;ve never run them on the rig since I got it and its getting cold and time to fix them u p. I cut the bottom of the door off (boatsided the rig they go on) and out cames a bunch of plates, spring, the door button, etc. is there a diagram to show how everything is supposed to be assembled inside the door somewhere? thanks

Re: door assembly?
kinda but not really. Both doors had a spring with a screw looking deal stuck in the end siting in the bottom of the door along with an oval plate and the door buttons. do the buttons just sit in the handle?

Re: door assembly?
It sounds like the door handles came apart and the parts fell down. The parts you are looking at were staked onto the door handle by bending tabs over the plate which held the plunger and spring. The door handle is a die cast part so getting the parts to stay in after the tabs break is usually not worth the effort. I would suggest getting different door handles and tossing the old ones.

Re: door assembly?
i don't think its that bad. I can stick my finger in the hood handle button hole and push the lever and open from outside and the inside door handle works. Here are pics of the pieces I'm talking about. Not sure if the button just sits in there or what.

Re: door assembly?
That oval looking thing is the backing plate to a sport mirror. The little clip with the hole in the end goes on the rod that runs from your inside door handle back to the actuator. the other 2 items belong to the door handle. Pick up a used pair of handles on the parts board. Since your wheelin yours, they don't need to be all shiney.
