Is the clutch adjustable.....
On a 86 one ton hydraulic clutch. My Dad bought a wrecker, The guy he got it from put in a new clutch and the works. I got in it the other day to move it, and you just barely let the pedal off the floor and it's grabbing. I like my clutch's to have more of free travel before they start to engage. So if you guys can help me out , I'd appreciate it.
If you need more info, Tell me and I'll try to get it for ya's.

Sounds like it might need to be bled.

Re: Is the clutch adjustable.....
There should be an all thread stud going from the slave cylinder to the shift fork. There are two nuts on there, and the one closest to the S/C should be welded. The other nut is at the S/F end and is adjustable. Probably two 9/16 wrenches and a little patience...

For what its worth (not so much if you know the stores), Autozone.com has repair info. Sort of like online manuals and it says there's no adjustment.

Re: Is the clutch adjustable.....
I went out this evening to look at the S/C rod. there's no adjustment there. I did find out the the S/C was considerably loose. So I tightened it back up, but was unable to see if that fixed my problem, because the battery was dead. I have the battery on charge, so I'll check to see if it's any better tomorrow.

Re: Is the clutch adjustable.....
Well it still grabs alot soonerthan I would like, but it is better than it was. Before you could barely lift there was no time to feather the gas to get going. Now there is a little room to work with but very little.

Re: Is the clutch adjustable.....
I guess the only other option is to bleed it then...
