Parts Store
Good Afternoon,
Can someone recommend a good parts store to purchase fenders and floor pans? I've received 4 different catologs from vendors and was wondering if one vendor's metal (thickness) is different than another or are they all the same? There's 2 here in KC that will save me delivery charges, but I don't know anything about them. LMC and Classic Parts of America. Thanks for any information and help, Joe |

Most sheet metal originates from 2 or 3 of the same places.

I would go to classic parts, I have spent $1000's with them and have been treated really well. great products and excellent customer service.

I've only bought a few small items from Classic and the shipping was super fast. I've been shopping the LMC catalog against Classic and well so far same items are cheaper as well as shipping.
It just pays to shop and compare all you can. I haven't received my brothers Catalog so I can't even begin to give them a chance yet. |

If they are local, i'd probably use them. That way I can inspect the parts before buying them. I do all of my mail ordering thru truckandcarshop.com.

I've used classic parts mostly and haven't had any problems..............................Here in indiana i use gmc paul due to the short shipping distance.....................On metal parts all of the companies buy from the same manufactures so they should be the the same far as thickness goes...............I would buy local due to the fact you help support someone in your area.....................Hemmit

Go with the locals. LMC and Classic Parts are both great companies. I've ordered plenty from both. I used to live in Vegas and Tucker's Classic parts is located there. It's nice to see and hold the parts before purchasing. Tuckers wasn't the cheapest at the time, but not paying for shipping made it cheaper in the end. As far as the parts go, I would agree with 72freak.

Another local source for '60-'66 Chevy truck parts is Jim Carter or www.oldchevytrucks.com.
I have used LMC and Classic Parts on many occasions, with great success. Buy local if you can to save on shipping and also be able to inspect the part before you purchase. There are also lots of good used parts available in the Classifieds of this site. Good luck with your project. |
