Column support brackets - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I am trying to put my column back into my suburban but I think I have lost 1 or 2 support brackets that hold the column to the brake pedal assembly. My memory says there was just one clamp held in with two screws, but the assembly manual shows two clamps that sandwich a rubber sleeve around the column and then are bolted to the assembly. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and if anyone has these extra brackets, i'd be interested in them.

There is a bracket at the firewall the bolts to the engine side. A tab extends out into the engine compartment and a "hose type" clamp goes around it and your column. The is a round bracket that screws to the firewall on the inside. It doesn't really secure the column. At the dash, the is a strap that holds the column tight and the the bracket that has the bumpers for your brake and clutch pedal.

Yep, there is only two. And I am lookin for the one on the firewall as well, since I lost mine when everything was apart for the restoration. The other one is the metal band, that is above the parking brake lever and held in with two bolts. The picture is of the one on the firewall that I lost, sooo if anyone has one hit me up! ***I was able to locate the bracket I was lookin for from an awesome board member!***

Thanks, I need that strap at the dash, that's the one I'm missing. Anybody out there have a parts truck that they'll sell this off of?

Make one. Not that hard. I did it to put a column out of a 92 Sonoma in my Jimmy.

Well guys, call me stupid, I have the strap, but was trying to put it where it didn't go, that's why I thought I didn't have it. All is well now, column is going in this week. Thanks for all the help.
