Hey all I am about to get my newly glass beaded intake back today. It is for a TPI setup I wanted to polish the whole thing but just dont have the nack (time patience ...) for it I want now to clear it to keep it easy to clean I know it will catch grease and all pretty easy the way it is. Can I use a clear like will be used on the outside of my truck? I may decide to add some color and Base coat Clear coat it. I am doing the engine compartment now so I may match some of these colors. Will this work or will it just burn off. I wanted to do more than just rattle can it. The rest of the engine will be Chevy orange.

They do make a hi temp clear coat. I think any thing else would most likely burn.

If you do that, you'll wind up blasting it again. Plus, if you put off polishing it, it won't get done. Suck it up man, and just get to it. That said, would you mind doing my valve covers while your at it! LOL

hey, if u have the money u could have it powder coated,,the have a variety of colors,,maybe even clear ?? It makes it look real sharp, and that wont burn off

If you know of anyone that has eastwood's hot-coat home powdercoating system, do it! We bought one of those to do brackets for alternator, etc. If you can't find a clear Powder, you could do it die cast aluminum...it looks sweet.

The advantages to powdercoating is 1-it doesn't burn off, and 2-when oil gets on it, it just washes right off. There's really no hidden guesswork with it.

Yea that was a thought I may take it by a place and see if they can do it for me.
