70 gmc
ive had this truck for 6 years now. got it when i was a freshman in high school. It was lowered with heated coils bad shocks had manual all drum brakes, rode rough stopped crappy. wiring was hacked. over the years i have redone the suspension, built a motor, rearend and trans for it. changed what i wanted out of the truck about 100 times. But ill post some old pics and current state ones, and start this as my build thread.
motor i built in high school was a 383 stroker, 11.1 cr, double hump heads, roller rockers, 3200 stall ran good but decided to put it in the old mans corvette and bbc the gmc. As it sits now its got a mild bbc and im doing some paint and body work along with putting a bench seat BACK in it after going to buckets a coupel years ago. the suspension is all redone, new tie rods, ball joints..etc. 3 inch drop spindles 3 inch drop springs up front. flip kit out back ill post some pics in order from when i got it till now. this is the old bed the PO decided to use a whole lot of bondo to get that "custom" look..... well i bought a new bed for 300.00 NEW heres the 383 stroker Last edited by 70stroker; 10-09-2008 at 11:39 PM. |

Re: 70 gmc
Well currently as of Oct 9 2008 i decided to try to do body work and paint on my truck.. i thought i might as well after I have done motor twice, trans, rearend, suspension.
I took the tank out of the cab and tryed my hand at painting the bed. I used duplicolors paint shop, for the ease of no mixing or recoat window. Its not as shiny as i would have hoped for but its got a flat satin look to it that i kinda dig. I figure if nothing else atleast the cheap paint will get red of the primer so it dont attract anymore moisture. any commments would love to hear |

Re: 70 gmc
suspension is a djm flip kit and i believe mcgauphys spindles and springs.
thanks for the kind words, The main reason for starting this is to keep words of encouragement coming or else i will prolly loose interest in it. thanks again |

Re: 70 gmc
i dont have ac or heat, i only drive it when its nice outside and windows always down. so i got some diamond plate to cover up all those holes. i dont have the switches in right now cuz they are taped under the dash. but i have my switches in the diamond plate for my push button start, exshaust cutouts and soon to be nitrous.
