68 bed vs 69 up bed
my 68 k10 came with a bad from a 69 -72 truck on it, and it was badly aligned about 1/4 inch between the bed and cab on the passenger side and about 2 inches on the drivers side
the bed has a steel floor, where originaly the truck had a wood bed i completely removed all the bed bolts in an attempt to align the bed, the bed is straight and square, and the cab and front clip are on and all aligned so my question is do 69-72 beds have a different mounting set up, or could it just simply be that the truck orignaly had a wood bed thanks nate

Re: 68 bed vs 69 up bed
Years back I bought a 72 4x4 with the same exact problem. There was a very small gap on one side an a wide one on the other. Come to find out the frame was bent,it had a diamond type bend. I now always look at that when I look at a truck.

Re: 68 bed vs 69 up bed
I don't think there is any difference in bed mounting over the years....

Re: 68 bed vs 69 up bed
thats what i am worried about the beds mounting the same
i guess i will pull the bed off and front clip is comming off in a couple of weeks so i can put my engine it, i will find out if the frame is straight by how the truck drives and what i can see with the front clip and bed off

Re: 68 bed vs 69 up bed
If you look at the top and bottom of the frame c-channel, it should have pretty smooth bends all along the frame rail. If you see any places where its pushed up or down, like a crimp or point, you've got some damage. Most of the factory bends are symmetrical from side to side, so that's also something to look out for.

Re: 68 bed vs 69 up bed
My guess is that your cab mounts are shot.
Edit: too slow again...
