can you break it?

i was out beating on the truck in "mexico" and i was doing some pretty long WOT pulls. i would pull through 2nd gear and a little bit of third, and then i realized that i had the speedometer PEGGED the needle was strait down, past 100mph and begging to climb the other side. these are purely mechanical, so my question is, at what point do they break?

will they just swing right around and keep going or does the cable snap and that's the end?

Re: can you break it?

I've had one spun over past the 100mph mark and around to the 25mph mark again.

I have to call BS on the other two replies.
I have had MANY inst panels from these trucks taken apart, and they all peg at zero. They will go past 100, but never past 0

agreed all have a bump stop preventing them from going past zero
