What's the best vinyl paint? please help!

I am going cheap out a bit, due to this wonderful economy,i'm going to paint a few of my interior pieces black. ( they are blue now). Does anyone have a product to recomend. I see classic Industries has some good stuff that sounds great for 15.00 a can. I just don't want it to scratch off easily. I also see some stuff called G2 that sounds too good to be true. Please help. Also I'll post some pics of the Blazer tomarrow, I took it to get painted, and now they have taken it further apart than ever, got to get all the knooks I guess.

Well the stuff I recommend is an actual ppg dye that you can get from a local car paint place. They mix it up in the exact color you want that you can pick out of a huge catalog by year of vehicle. I think it withstands abuse better than rattle cans, but there are some rattle cans that are pretty good. If sticking with rattle can, spend the extra couple of bucks and get SEM vinyl dye. It's superior to any other type of rattle can vinyl dye. SEM will be somewhere between 10-15 bucks a can if I remember right. The ppg will be atleast double that and you will need a paint gun for it. +1 on the SEM. As a car audio installer I used tons of it with good results. there's a plastic prep liquid that should be used too. It should be right there with the dye. We did the entire interior of a x-cab dually color change from OEM Blue to grey 15 years ago and it is still great. Unless I told you it was changed you'd probably think the truck came with a grey interior.

This is a crucial point. I agree with everyone that SEM is the way to go for rattle cans. No matter what you use it is VERY important to clean the pieces thoroughly and prep them. Spend the time to clean, clean, and clean some more, then use the prep and it will last a long time.

I used dupli-color on my console with good results.

I use SEM too. It works very well. Prep is the key. SEM makes a cleaner as well as a prep spray, they work equally as well.
