1972 Big Block motor mount towers

I am looking at a 1972 Cheyenne parts truck. It was originally a big block truck. At some point a small block was installed. I am looking at the motor mount towers. I can not see very well and want to know if it is possible that someone left the big block towers in place when they installed the small block. That is, can you mount a small block on the big block towers. The towers in place appear to be the correct "clam shell" style towers. Before I have to see about pulling the small block just to get the motor mount towers, I want to see if these are correct. I will try to get some pictures as best I can. I took some pictures with my phone, but they don't really show anything. Thanks

Yes, you could mount a small block on big block towers.

Plus it is possible to mount a big block on small block towers as well. You have to swap the towers side to side and pop one hole.

With the truck being a 72 and if they are the clamshell type mounts you have most likely have found a set of 72 BBC towers/mounts, but only if they have one raised bump on the top edge of stand between mounting bolt holes and if there are two raised bumps they are 73 and up parts. I have came across swapped in small blocks before in these original bbc trucks, I have added a couple pics of a 72 bbc truck but you can only see the tops of the mounts with the motor in position. I will go out and get you some better pics.

Here are some better pictures to visibly verify what you have for sure, these are the 72 only bbc towers, mounts & clamshells just sitting in place.
