A/C evaporator memoval
can the evaporator be replaced all from out side the fire wall? or is there something need to be removed from inside the cab?, is it an all day issue getting it out and putting a new one in?

Re: A/C evaporator memoval
The evaporator is on the outside of the firewall. The heater core is on the inside. There are four bolts/screws that hold the housing to the firewall. I would be a fool to tell you it's easy, but having the front cap off and the engine/transmission out makes it easier.....as in my case. You'll have to do some mild acrobatic stunts in getting in/under the dash to get all of the stuff out if you get into it like I did. Hopefully, you won't find what I did when I got the stuff off of the firewall of my truck. Can you say....rust?
The bolts/screws that go through the firewall go into the heater core housing on the inside of the cab. Hopefully, seeing these pix will help you understand how much it sucks to have my problem, but my experience so far has been deconstruction (Ty Pennington calls it "DEMOLITION!!!") and not reassembly. I have to replace my firewall/cowl before I can get on with life in the slow lane. Good luck.
