Water temp gauge?

Whats the troubleshooting process on it? PO installed a tri-guage pack and only hooked up the water temp to it. I would rather 86 this and make the stock guage work. What do I need to replace/inspect (not in that order, hopefully) to get this looking more stock?

Re: Water temp gauge?

Here's some good trouble shooting info-----http://www.6066gmcguy.org/Electrical-02.htm------------- Scroll down to water temp gauge.

If you buy an aftermarket unit the guage and sender must be resistance compatible or the readings will be off.

Re: Water temp gauge?

I think to test the sensor you ground the wire and get your buddy see if the needle moves...
