Rear leaf spring orientation question...
I have new rear leaf springs from Husky that are OEM replacements for my '79 2wd Blazer. They only have a clamp on the leaf-spring pack on one end. The old ones are off and gone - does the clamped end go front or rear?
Thanks! |

Mine had them front and back, but the front would be the best place for them. Trav

Re: Rear leaf spring orientation question...
Thanks, Trav, that's what we were thinking also. I called Husky just to be sure - front it is. This has been a lot of work and my old bones are sore, but I might have it home today with a 3/3 drop complete.
Next, the engine. Thanks! |

Re: Rear leaf spring orientation question...
I've got plenty. But we didn't get done, there were a few obstacles. Or I should say previous shoddy work discovered that was corrected. When you're in that deep there's no point holding back - do it right one time. We just called it quits for the night, if there are no more surprises it'll be home tomorrow. I'll start a new thread with pics.
Thanks Trav. |

Re: Rear leaf spring orientation question...
I also just got my leafs in from Husky and was wondering if the clamp
went front or back now I know Thanks! What was the part# on your leafs? I went with the 22-553 which are pick-up springs and they've got a 1/4 inch less arch than the replacements and cost less than half of the OE replacements! LMK, Thanks! |

Re: Rear leaf spring orientation question...
I'm not sure of the part number, but I did get the pickup springs that were nearly identical except half price. I'll have to look it up. If I remember correctly, the Blazer springs were something like $229 apiece but the pickup springs were $99 each. That was an easy decision.
