Any Body men in Plano Tx area?
I got a quote of $300 to replace my left rocker panel with no painting, is this a good price?

I have seen several ads on craigs list for this type of work This one seems fairly cheap to me You know you get what you pay for It might be worth at least checking into http://dallas.craigslist.org/sdf/pts/858502724.html There is another shop that advertises on Craigs list that is up near Mckinney that appears that they specialize in these trucks I can not seem to find the ad right now. Let me know if it works out for ya cause i need this repair also

Re: Any Body men in Plano Tx area?
considering that most body shops charge $50.00 /hr. 6 hrs dont seem that bad. However, when i did the repair work on my sons truck i did not keep up with the time. Once i pulled the rocker off, there were other issues i have to fix as well. Another thing to keep in mind is the fitment of the aftermarket piece. I hade to slice/dice, and modify the rockers to fit as they should. I would also get a couple of quotes, and even post your ? in the paint & body section.

Re: Any Body men in Plano Tx area?
Thats a pretty fair price for a shop to charge. We charge insurance companies $42.00 per hr and $28.00 per hour material=$68.00 per hour total. if its an old vehicle it jumps to $50.00 per hour. If there is no painting or other body material like in your case $300.00 per rocker is pretty normal. They are not hard to put on.

Re: Any Body men in Plano Tx area?
Thanks for the feedback, I thought it seemed reasonable, the quote actually lists as 7.5 hrs @$40, but the guy who gave the quote said that might be high since it was based on an 07 chevy, seems they didn't have 1971 in their system.....
