vortec intake gaskets

well, it looks like i'm gonna be putting new intake gaskets on the 99 suburban this weekend hopefully. is this a good gasket set> MS90131?
should i just put a bead of silicone on the ends? any tips, i plan on doing this saturday, and should have most of the day

I always put some silicone around water jackets to to be safe. Just make sure to mark your distributor good like with a chisle just to make sure its timed back where it is.. those newer ones are kinda moody sometimes.

Another thing throw those end rubber pieces away on front and back and just put a good size bead of silicone across there.

howdy, the gasket kit didn't even include the end pieces, we replaced them saturday, we put a good sized bead of silicone on the ends, but yep, timing is off, but it runs good as is, within the next week or 2 i'll have a buddy set the timing,
