Post Cable throttle...

My 69 still has the old style throttle assembly. I would like to install a cable one instead. What parts will I need, can I get these parts one of the suppliers on this site?.....Thanks

start welding, or... trade me cabs, i have 71 cab with crappy throttle cable accelrator, i hate cable,s i loved the 68 ones with rods. always work never break, easy to fab a rod for, dont have to worry about fabbing a damn bracket to get the cable situated right,,

the best place i can tell you to look for the parts is a junkyard. You'll need a hanging throttle pedal, which is different than the shaft linkage type. also, it requires drilling a hole in the firewall to get the cable through, and a grommet, you'll need a bracket that mounts on the engine, just behind the carburetor, to hold the cable, and a different stud on the carburetor to allow for the snap coupler on the cable. oh yeah, the hole in the firewall has to be square, so the cable snaps into it.

To get proper positioning(straight/not too far back on the peddle),I cut a pc from a 71 firewall ,& welded into my 69. you may also look at LoKar peddle /cable assys. http://www.lokar.com/
