12" of lift or more, lets see some pics

lately shrinking truck syndrome has kicked in, my 84 crew cab dually on 38.5 boggers is now just too small. Ive begun the new build starting with an 85 cucv chassis and intend to finish up with about 20 inches of lift and 44" boggers, you know basic monster tuck lol, so if anyone else has a big rig, lets see em'

Re: 12" of lift or more, lets see some pics

You don't need 20" of lift for 44" tires. 12" of suspension lift and 3 more on the body and you are fine.

oh im aware i dont need it, but i want it lol, eventually it will have rockwells and 48x25x20 terra tires so im just planning ahead
the other thing is, ive never been a big fan of body lift so im fabricating everything to obtain the 20 inches

Re: 12" of lift or more, lets see some pics

The truck started out as a 1 ton 2wd dually. I added a 4"x4" square tube to the front and added the spring hangers from a 78 K20. I also cut the frame and installed shackles from a 78 K20. I installed the K20 engine crossmember back then as well. Then I used a pair of skyjacker 12" lift springs. This will have a D60 of some sort in the front but right now it has a D44HD. I had a 79 D60 from a ford in it but the housing is bent on it. In the rear it has 4wd spring hangers in the front. And in the rear I did a shackle flip, basically took the stock shackle and put it upside down and used a different hanger on the frame. Then I used a 6" lift spring and a 4" block. It has a 10.25 sterling dually rear end from a 91 F-350 pick up in it. The truck has a 5.9 cummins in it and will have an allison when done as well. More pics can be seen here at:http://s181.photobucket.com/albums/x...cher/?start=20

Re: 12" of lift or more, lets see some pics

O what the heck, I'm on a picture posting role today....

Here's my bubbies (boardmember 6772king) he's still not finished it, I think they were 20" springs he had made.

He'll kill me if he finds out I posted this pic of him. Let's make sure he never finds out about it....

Sorry Sean, have to do it.

Sweet truck, he wants to put 54's under it, but I don't think he has the rocks.

EDIT: I just talked to Sean & they're 22" lift springs & he still has the 3" body lift in. And no, he doesn't have the rocks to go with the 54's. He said he's tearing it back down & going 12". "Just too big" he says. So if anyone knows anyone looking for some 22" lift springs.....

That doesn't look safe at all the way the steering is. He probably should consider some sort of hydraulic steering setup.

just for the record i was having a bad hair day ,, bowtier u suck ,,, the steering is just temporary to move it ,, if i use these springs i will cut the ends off the front rear ond clock them up witch would help alot ,, as for the spings being for sale i cant make up my mind,, but they wouldt fit ur j i joe(bad azz trucks by the way ,,i have a 86) the 67-72 use a shorter spring in the front,,

I've seen that newer silverado... to bad it doesn't even have a front drive shaft. It's to tall and the pinion angle would be to extreme...

Re: 12" of lift or more, lets see some pics

Sweet trucks! I should have gotten a camera when my buddy brought his truck over. I am going to try to get him to bring it back over and park it next to mine. His is a 1984 K10 with a 12" lift, 3" body lift, and stacked frame. It has 49" Iroks on it and is a standard cab short wide box.

No problem! They are sweet. Yeah, it finally looks like it is a truck again. I probabaly won't get it running and drivable until spring or so.
