Middle Vent
Have all of my vents hooked up except my middle one. Can't get it in there. Don't tell me you have to have the radio out to get it in (or do if its true) Wanting to do that so I can get the glovebox in.

it's a pain but you can if you have patience. it took me about an hour to figurwe out how to route the hoses and get them on. if you flatten them, then they will fit between the radio and the firewall good. just don't flatten them too much. this also puts more of a restriction in them so you will get more air out of the side vents. hope this helps.

You should be able to get to it with the glove box liner removed.
Mine was made easier due to the fact that I installed a kit I got from a parts vendor that eliminates the hose on the driver’s side. This was basically a couple of plugs one for the heater/ac unit and another for the dash connection. It is suppose to make the circulation to the center vent better. I used it to eliminate one of the hoses, which in turn made installation easier.

The vendor was LMC Truck
In the new catalog 2002 Fall Edition #CB31 Page 106 top right corner of the page. Center vent plug set p/n 38-5048 $6.95 It seems to work as described. By eliminating one of the hoses there is more circulation to the center vent. I was told that this was an upgrade to the a/c venting system that was approved by and also supplied by GM after they re-evaluated the ductwork of these trucks.

The glovebox is out. Just doesn't want to seem to fit between the speaker/radio and the dash. I have everything hooked up but the center vent.

Is that the original radio?
You could probably loosen the front radio mounts to give you some room. Mine was made easier due to no speaker installed yet.
