opinions on these rims im thinking of putting on my 69 - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

these are one of my possible choices for rims on my truck. They will be 20". anyone think these will look ok and "fit" the truck ok as far as how they look on one of our trucks????

Don`t like them.You asked.They might look "ok".I`ve seen less tolerable wheels before.I just think in 20" form with that design will look frail on a larger vehicle.I would only put a set of wheels like that on a light vehicle with brakes that cost more than the wheels.If you don`t have brakes to show off I don`t want to see them.

Have you checked for the proper back space? Most of the contemporary chrome wheels aren't available in the correct back space.

I would have to vote no as well...

ok newb question here but i have to ask just to clerify in my head. what is exactly back space. i have in my head one thing but when i read threads i sometimes get the feeling my idea is wrong

It's the position of the wheels inner & outer 'lip' as compared to the mounting pad.

Wheels w/a lot of back-spacing would run into clearance issues toward the C/L of the frame (a-arms, inner fender inside edge, calipers). Wheels w/too little back-spacing would run into clearance issues toward the outer edge of the body (outer wheel arch, inner fender outer edge).

Just my .02 worth but I am not much in favor of the newer "bling-bling" wheels on Classic Old Iron. To me they just look out of place. But then my kids tell me, " Dad, you are old school all the way." My reply, " Damn sure am !" ' Course, don't really care for bling wheels on Chevelles, 'Cuda's, GTO's, Mustangs, Camaro's, ....etc. First off, these trucks were built when a truck was mainly used for work and possibly stand-in duty for a a family second vehicle. Period rally wheels, stock rims/dog-dish caps and a select few 15" rims from the day do it for me. But as said previously, bottom line, your truck, your choice.

I don't think the wheels would look that bad if they were only 15", but I agree with everyone else, at 20" they just wouldn't look right on these trucks and I definitely wouldn't spend a grand for a set of 'em.

and for everyone else. dont worry , i dont take it personal. u gave me exactly what i wanted OPINIONS........ my choice is still up in the air on what I get ........... but, unlike some of you old timers, and I am going for that "bling" look without having too much metal/chrome on my wheel, and I like the five star look as well.............I am 24, not 44 like most of you guys

BINGO!! I'm an "Old Schooler" also, who likes working on the old vintage iron. I also say, keep with the period correct touches. I do not care for anything that takes away from the main subject, like the bling wheels. jmo

I do have one question.... the first wheel that you posted was for a 5-lug suspension, and the others you posted was for a 6-lug suspension. Which do you have?

I'm not sure if you're having the same problem that I am... but I'm finding it hard to locate a rim that not everyone else has. TTII's are a great looking wheel, but everyone under the sun has them. Foose Nitrous, Intros, and several other 5-spoke wheels are great looking wheels with a decent price tag to go along with it. Narrow your build down to full on custom, classic custom, custom classic, and so on.... this would help me to determine which type/style of wheel I would pick.

Good luck with the choice as IMO, a wheel/tire choice can make or break a look.
