Re: Power brakes ?'s

Look for the brake booster, its the big round thing in front of your master cylinder, open your hood and it should be on the uper drivers corner. btw what part of vancouver are you in, i live in hazel dell but i go to orchards alot, if you ever see a ornage and black 71 wave or somthing. i go to columbia river high, i see a teal 67 lwb right outside after school on 99th st all the time is that you?

Re: Power brakes ?'s

I live off 4th plain and Andresen. Yea I have the huge brake booster behind my master cylinder. I can rebuild a motor with no problem but when it comes to brakes I'm still learning. Well here's a couple pics maybe this helps.

Re: Power brakes ?'s

ya that looks like you have power brakes, if you have manual brakes it would just be the master cylinder against the firewall and thats it.

heres a pic of non power brakes, you can see the difference.

Re: Power brakes ?'s

You have power drum brakes. You're probably used to power disc brakes. Drums are fine for in-town driving but not good for panic stops at high speeds. You could install all new hardware and shoes and turn the drums to get a good solid pedal again, but that's $$ and retrofitting disks to these is about the same $$ and an afternoon of labor.
