heater doesn't work after rebuild

When I bought my 1969 about a year ago, the heater core was bypassed, but the fan in the heater box worked. I took everything apart, painted, replaced heater core, and gaskets. I put it all back together and now the fan doesn't work. The wire in the engine compartment has 12 volts and the ground wire is attached. Any ideas?

Maybe you have a bad ground. If you have too much paint in the way. Also I noticed on mine it wasn't easy to get the power lead to plug all the way down on the contact.

I had a different but equally wierd problem. I put what was a good heater back in after a few months of sitting in storage and the core leaked. I guess it must have gotten kicked around too much.

It's all fixed now. BTW..It's a lot easier to replace those cores if you drop the inner fender out of the way.

Do you have both ground wires on there? The blower is metal, but mounted in a fiberglass box, so a 'jumper wire' of sorts is required.
*I know this for a/c ab, but it's been a while since I messed with a non a/c set up*

I have non ac. I have 1 ground wire from the metal blower case to one of the upper bolts that bolts the fiberglass housing to the firewall. This is how it was when I took it apart. I figured when it threads into the firewall it would be an ok ground. I used a continuity meter to check ground. The bolt that goes thru the firewall rings continuity with all other grounds.

ok, I found the problem. Bad ground. I made a jumper for the ground and it starts. But it squeals really bad. Is there any way to lube it? What's the best way to run the permanant ground?
